Presumably, hardcore zealots of the classic slot form should feel they're on familiar ground. By the same token, Stellar 7s doesn't do much out of the ordinary with its art or sounds, so the excitement meter barely fluttered when the game lit up the screen.

The features in Stellar 7s are made up of the Stellar 7s Token Symbols Collection, Wild Stellar 7s, the Gold Bonus Game, free spins, and super free spins.

Stellar 7s Token Symbols Collection

Stellar 7s Token symbols appear in the base game, and each reel has a 777 Holder located above it. When a Stellar 7s Token lands, it is added to its respective 777 Holder. When 3 Stellar 7s Tokens are collected by a 777 Holder, the Wild Stellar 7s feature is activated on that reel. Stellar 7s Tokens do not appear on active Wild Stellar 7s reels. 777 Holders, Wild Stellar 7s and remaining reels persist for each bet level.

Wild Stellar 7s

The Wild Stellar 7s feature can activate in the base game, free spins, and super free spins. When Wild Stellar 7s is activated in the base game, a Wild 7s symbol is placed on the top position of the triggering reel. On each subsequent spin, the Wild 7s symbol expands down 1 position on the reel. When the Wild 7s symbol reaches the bottom position, the feature ends and the Wild 7s are removed on the following spin. Scatter symbols are visible through Wild 7s, meaning bonus rounds can be triggered during Wild Stellar 7s.

Gold Bonus Game

Collecting 1 or more gold bars from the reels when they hit provides a chance of triggering the Gold Bonus Game. Gold bars appear on mid-pay symbols in the base game. If free spins or super free spins trigger and gold bars are collected at the same time, only free spins or super free spins play out. When the Gold Bonus Game triggers, players click gold bars until 3 of the same prize symbol is revealed. Landing a regular wild triggers Wild Stellar 7s on its reel, starting from the position the wild landed in. Regular wilds do not appear on active Wild Stellar 7s reels. The feature ends when Wild 7s are no longer in view on the reels.

Super Free Spins

Landing 2 scatters in the base game adds 1 point to the Super Free Spins Upgrade Meter. Collecting 20 points fills the meter, so the next time 3 scatters land, super free spins are awarded rather than free spins. The upgrade meter persists for each bet level. Super free spins start with an x5 multiplier that increases by +1 after each spin. At the start of the round, Wild Stellar 7s are active on reels 2 and 4, starting from the topmost reel position.

Stellar 7s: Slot Verdict

Despite being plastered over the Internet, Albert Einstein apparently did not say, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.' Now, a jazzy retro theme is different than a farmyard one, so no one's accusing Just For The Win of being anything, but the two games are very close, as are others like Trojan Kingdom and Amazon Kingdom, meaning that by the time Stellar 7s rolled around, excitement levels were way down there around ankle height. It was going to take some epic retro classic slot treatment to turn any frown upside down. Alas, Stellar 7s' presentation hovered around so-so for the majority of the item, making playing the thing a tad tedious.

For gamblers into this style and who haven't been worn down by the related releases already mentioned, okay, there might be entertainment to be gained from playing Stellar 7s. Its free spins rounds have a touch of Razor Shark about them, sort of, while being somewhat unique to Just For The Win. The Wild Stellar 7s feature can brighten the base game, and the Gold Bonus Game is an easy-going point, click, and hope you reveal the 5,000x Mega prize, which just happens to be Stellar 7s' max win figure. On a side note, if you like the gaming components on offer here but would prefer chasing a bigger prize, then Trojan Kingdom's 10,000x might be a greater enticement.

When the review was over and done with, there was little about it enticing us back for round two. Stellar 7s might have a place, a role to fill in the grand scheme of online gambling, but such was its mediocrity that it was tough to justify spending time trying to figure out quite what its purpose might be.
