Microgaming partner Triple Edge Studios to develop new Tomb Raider slot
To mark the 15th anniversary of their partnership with Japanese video game developer Square Enix, Microgaming has announced that a third instalment of Tomb Raider is to be released later this year. The original slot featuring adventure woman and action hero Lara Croft was released back in 2004 and was the first ever branded online slot ever produced. In 2008, it was followed up by a second game that proved that is still being played to this day and proved to be a major success for the company.
No further details have been shared by Microgaming, but it’s not unlikely that the new 2018 blockbuster movie Tomb Raider will work as a source of inspiration for the game. We also know that partnering company Triple Edge Studios has been assigned to produce the game, the very same group that was responsible for Playboy Gold, a much anticipated follow up to Microgaming’s Playboy slot that, unfortunately, fell flat and turned out to be a complete disaster due to low payouts and tedious gameplay.
