Feeding Fury: Slot Overview
Players! Don't be dipping your toe in the water around here; casino game maker Iron Dog Studio has unleashed the fish of war in an online slot going by the name of Feeding Fury - an aquatically themed slot that doesn't feature any angling, but it does feature a whole bunch of undersea critters. To take the edge off the fury, Iron Dog Studio has designed the game with a humorous bent, so while there's loads of munching and fury, it's all a bit of a laugh. Let's be open from the start; this is a fishing slot which does not have a Fishin' Frenzy-esque money collection mechanic. Instead, Feeding Fury is all about random Shark Attacks in the base game and a Feed or Die bonus round, which does admittedly have a collection aspect to it.
Since the characters in Feeding Fury are all watery related, the action occurs beneath the waves, where bubbles bubble up from the bottom, and weeds bob about the place. The rest of the view is pretty plain, with a wavey surface, a bit of blue, and not a hint of shore up top. Not to worry, the cartoonish, dare we say, goofiness of the fish on the reels adds a knee-slapping element, and an almost Wild Western soundtrack provides the finishing touch.
Diving even deeper into Feeding Fury, we uncover the beating heart of its medium/high volatile math model, which produces a default theoretical return to player figure of 96.11% (lower RTP versions are available, so always check the paytable). Simply set up, the gaming is held on a 5-reel, 3-row active panel, possessing 10 fixed paylines for regular line wins to land across. Baiting up is made possible by choosing a bet of 10 p/c to $/€50 per spin, and any device from mobiles to desktops may be used to get the fury going.
For pay symbols, Feeding Fury has ten regulars – five high and five low. The lows are 10-A card royals with nibbles taken out of them, while the high pays are three characterful fish, a dolphin, and a squid. Should a five-of-a-kind winning line be produced, awards vary from 2-2.5x the bet when made up of card symbols or 3-10 times the bet for the premiums. Lastly, the shark symbol is wild and lands on all five reels. Sharks pay up to 15 times the bet for a five-wild win, or they can substitute for all non-special symbols.
Feeding Fury: Slot Features
Whilst a modicum of feeding occurs in the base game, the fury gets a leg up during the game's Feed or Die bonus round. As well as this, players should keep their eye out for the Shark Attack modifier.
Shark Attack
Shark Attacks launch at random in the base game. When activated, wild symbols swim left on the grid, eating the fish that get in their way. If more than one wild lands on the same row, and a wild passes over an existing wild symbol, the existing wild has its multiplier increased.
Feed or Die
Feeding Fury logo scatters land on all reels and hitting 3, 4, or 5 of them, awards 3, 4, or 5 lives, respectively, in the Feed or Die feature. For the Feed or Die, a Collector Shark sits in the middle of the game board, eating all fish that land, thereby awarding a monetary value each time. Fish do not have to be adjacent to The Collector Shark to be eaten. The Collector Shark cannot eat Crab Symbols, and when a game round occurs with no fish symbols in view, a life is lost. As fish are eaten, they contribute points to a collection system; when the right number of points are gained in a single spin, the round moves to a higher level, of which there are three in total.
- At Level 1, The Collector Shark is a 1x1 symbol.
- At Level 2, The Collector Shark is a 2x2 symbol and a global multiplier of x2 applies to all values collected by The Collector Shark.
- At Level 3, The Collector Shark is a 3x2 symbol, and a global multiplier of x5 applies to all values collected by The Collector Shark. This also unlocks the Hammerhead Shark. If a Hammerhead Shark hits in view, the global multiplier increases by x2 as soon as it is eaten.
The Feed or Die feature continues until all lives have been lost or the win cap is reached.
Feeding Fury: Slot Verdict
As far as fishing slots go, and there are a lot of them, Feeding Fury is quite unique. For one, it doesn't use angler symbols to collect prize-bearing fish money symbols like Fishin' Frenzy or the Big Bass/Bigger Bass range. Doing something different doesn't lose it any points either. Feeding Fury has its own way of going about business that differs from the standard fishing method, and all the better for it in terms of originality.
Feeding Fury remains a simple game, though, so there is no need to do anything other than cast off and see what the ocean serves up. The base game's got Shark Attacks to add interest, though, in some ways, one of the most entertaining parts is the way Iron Dog Studio presented the fish, the animations, and the general humorous nature of the game. Fish might not be known for their strong personalities when compared to house pets like cats or dogs, but in Feeding Fury, they're bursting with life.
The Feed or Die round was fairly busting with life as well, and getting to level 2 didn't present major difficulties; the third level was a bit trickier. Gaining levels is a double-edged sword, though. On the plus side, the global multiplier ratchets up; on the con side, having a bigger Collector Shark on the grid just eats up real estate. It's not like the expanding rabbit in Fat Rabbit, for instance, because The Collector Shark eats fish from any position - it doesn't have to be adjacent to them. Ah well, the expansion adds to the challenge of hitting the game's 5,434x the bet win cap.
All up, Feeding Fury was a fun game to play. It's got spunk, its own individual style and gives players with oceanic interests a different way of potentially collecting wins compared to much of the competition.

Feeding Fury baits ‘n reels in fish in its own unique way, making a nice change from the usual run of things.
