Devilish Fortunes' shiny presentation and particular subject matter helped make it a more enticing proposal than both Fire and Roses Joker and Fire and Roses Jolly Joker - the Christmas clone. Not saying it turned out to be a great game or anything like that, but it's one which pleasantly surprised when seen in action, after the so-so reactions to the two slots preceding it. This was also partly due to the ongoing collection of jackpot trigger symbols and the increasing multiplier when scatters hit on four reels. Paying both ways doesn't hurt either.

Once the initial warm reception simmered down a notch, Devilish Fortunes settled into a fairly entertaining groove. It's kind of sweet the way Games Global studios pass ideas around amongst one another, as Devilish Fortunes also brought back memories of Tippy's Golden Pot, which was reviewed not long before this one. What connects the two is the rising jackpot collection system, where each prize has a start and maximum point. Tippy's was higher, for the competitive types, reaching 10,000x, compared to Devilish Fortunes' 5,000x. So, while not groundbreaking, Devilish Fortunes turned out to be a perfectly fine slot. The dual collections, the pay both ways, the jackpot element, and the round of multiplier free spins have been dressed up in subject matter with a higher intrigue factor than before, making Devilish Fortunes' outer shell a more interesting vehicle for what it has to offer mechanically.
